International Ruby Programming Contest

The prizewinners in the 2013 International Ruby Programming Contest for Junior and Senior High School Students ― In Mitaka Have Been Decided

The finals of the 2013 International Ruby Programming Contest for Junior and Senior High School Students – In Mitaka were held on December 7, 2013 at Mitaka Sangyo Plaza in Mitaka, and the first prizes, runners up prizes and prizes for effort were awarded in the under 15 and under 18 classes.

From a total of 60 applications, 9 entries―5 from the under 15 class and 4 from the under 18 class―made it through to the finals, and the 8 member Judging Panel, led by Ruby’s creator, Mr. Yukihiro Matsumoto, selected the price winners after the presentations were given for each entry.

The results are as listed below. Each prizewinner received a certificate and additional prizes such as laptops and tablets were given.

The contest was hosted by the Organizing Committee, which is comprised of 8 organizations dedicated to promoting the Ruby programming language, and was made possible thanks to co-hosting by Mitaka City and the Mitaka City Board of Education.

This was the third time the competition has been held, and we plan to hold it again for the 4th time in 2014.
